SkyePoint Decisions is looking for a Vulnerability Mitigation/Patching Administrator to support their client located in Washington, DC. Our company supports the customer by leveraging leading-edge IT solutions to improve the customer's mission effectiveness while continuously seeking opportunities to increase efficiency. Under the Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) contract, our organization's 110-member team delivers the full breadth of IT services, including infrastructure engineering and operations, software development and maintenance, cyber security, enterprise architecture support, and document processing. We also provide document processing capabilities in support of the agency’s regulatory mission.  


The Vulnerability Mitigation/Patching Administrator will be providing enterprise-level IT operations, engineering and maintenance support for all applications, (COTS) and internally developed packages.  The Vulnerability Mitigation/Patching Administrator will be part of the Windows Application team which supports applications used by the agency. Provides support to remediate security threats and vulnerabilities. Coordinate and communicate changes with the client and team members.  


  • Provides technical to include Software updates, security patching, and security scanning.
  • Provides support in vulnerability remediation, compliance, and prohibited software removal.
  • Use Nessus, SCCM, and other security reports to identify workstations that have deployment, patching or other issues.
  • Provides specific vulnerability remediation support for workstations, based on the and remediate 99 percent of all new vulnerabilities.
  • Provide patch and vulnerability support using SSCM, Shavlik and other tools. This includes MS patching, Nessus scan remediation, unauthorized software remediation, baseline image deficiencies, etc.
  • Participate in testing of images desktops and laptops.
  • Assist in updating security documents that adapt customer protocols to follow NIST guidelines.
  • Troubleshoots any problems or issues that arise with Windows desktops/laptops from vulnerability remediation.
  • Provides operating system updates for Windows desktops/laptops.
  • Add systems to collections. 
  • Troubleshooting SCCM agents installed on clients to ensure that all systems are receiving updates and report to the central SCCM server.
  • Provides support for escalations from Help Desk and deskside support technicians for deployed applications.
  • Build, update and maintain Windows workstation image. 


Required Experience: 

  • 3+ years’ Patching and updates to servers and workstations using SCCM 
  • 3+ years’ Windows 7 system administration 
  • Experience using Nessus Vulnerability Scanner and or ability to run and read reports
  • Extensive knowledge and experience using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) (SCCM 2012 or higher preferred). 
  • Knowledge and Use of Active Directory 

Desired Experience: 

  • Experience with Shavlik\Ivanti patching 
  • Knowledge of Remedy ticket tracking system
