In your new role as a cyber security professional, you will protect our customer’s most sensitive data and complex systems from all forms of threats including cyber-attacks, insider threats, rogue network devices, and malicious software and applications. You will work with a team of like-minded professionals to share and collaborate upon your ideas to improve the cybersecurity infrastructure, architecture, and configuration deployments. The SME Cyber Penetration Tester role will be located in Rosslyn, VA. This role supports the Penetration Testing (Red Cell) Team.

What can you achieve and how you will make a difference

• Develop and maintain a multi-year schedule for penetration testing activities.
• Interface and coordinate with third party organizations performing penetration testing for the Department.
• Interface and coordinate with system owners to establish targets for testing, test schedule, test goals, and rules of engagement.
• Organize and lead efforts that document and design improvement strategies for discovered vulnerabilities and monitoring gaps.
• Design, perform and report on penetration testing of systems to satisfy the NIST 800-53 CA-8 security control and using methodologies that may include, NIST SP 800-115, Penetration Testing Execution Standard (PTES), and Information Systems Security Assessment Framework (ISSAF).
• Produce reports and conduct management briefings on test activities, scenarios, results and recommendations.
• Stay abreast of current attack vectors and unique methods for exploitation of computer networks.

The Talent You Bring with these Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years’ experience required. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. 
• Active Top Secret Clearance required.
• Possess CASP+ CE, CCNA, CEH, Cloud+, CYSA+, GCIH, or similar certification.
• Proficient at conducting network or software vulnerability assessments and penetration testing utilizing reverse engineering techniques.
• Proven capability in identifying intrusion or incident path and method; isolates, blocks or removes threat access.
• Familiar and proficient in evaluating system security configurations.
• Has expertise in evaluating findings and performing root cause analysis.
• Able to perform analysis of complex software systems to determine both functionality and intent of software systems. Able to resolve highly complex malware and intrusion issues.

Applicants selected for this position will require an active Top Secret clearance, and background screening. Applicants selected for a security clearance will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirement for access to classified information.
