Responsibilities

SkyePoint Decisions, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated team member to fill the role of a Technical Writer/Business Analyst to join our team supporting the Department of Education’s (DoED) Federal Student Aid (FSA) Cybersecurity and Privacy Support Services (CPSS) in Washington, DC.

 

This is a remote position. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide analysis of Technical Documentation related to complex technology systems and their related compliance with government and agency policies and procedures. 
  • Work collaboratively with government staff, technical staff and project technical writers to ensure the highest professional degree of operational and user documentation is delivered to the customer. 
  • Reviewing, updating and compliance verification of complex system operational and user documentation. 
  • Ensure all documentation, from whitepapers to operational procedures, are of the highest professional quality and ready for client distribution to technical and executive management. 
  • Maintain and annually (or as needed) update each security document in the TOSL. 
  • Maintain a schedule of updates. 
  • Maintain a library of possible sources of updates and crosswalk with current security library. 
  • Perform kickoff meetings for updates with agenda, recommended changes, and possible consolidation or retirement of documents. 
  • Provide ISSO updates, at the monthly ISSO meetings, associated with new procedures, processes, policies, or other security related issues. 
  • Maintain metrics associated with documentation and changes as related to artifacts, approval rates, timeliness, etc. 
  • Create a monthly update on upcoming revisions, emergency updates, etc., trends and statistics, 30, 60, 90-day projections, and overdue revisions. 
  • Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses. 
  • Maintain security library contains approximately 100 documents which vary in size, from 10 pages to hundreds of pages and add new documents (processes, procedures, technical guides) as needed. 

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain a DoED Level 6c High Risk/Public Trust Security Clearance. 
  • Bachelor’s degree. 
  • 3+ years in a technical documentation role supporting technology projects and programs for federal government or large enterprise environments. 
  • Industry related certification required. 
  • Good familiarity with and understanding of all relevant government and agency policies and procedures to ensure system documentation is compliance with relevant guidelines, e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA, FIPS-II, NIST, etc. 
  • Strong English grammar, proofreading, and copying editing skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • U.S. Citizenship is required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret security clearance preferred.

Salary Range: TBD

The SkyePoint Decisions salary range for this position is a general guideline only. It represents an estimated range for this position and is just one piece of our total compensation package. 

Salary at SkyePoint is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work schedule, the candidate’s combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, market data and business considerations.
